It seems that Sydney has been blessed with some of the hardest working and most supportive DnB crews in Australia, if not the world. Over the past few months, you would be excused for thinking that nearly every international drum n bass producer, DJ and MC still alive and kicking has graced our shores and headlined yet another massive DnB event.
And so, it takes something special to create a night that will stand out from the rest – something that both the Evolve and Foreign Dub Crews pride themselves on. For some time now, Evolve has been behind some of the most musical and entertaining DnB parties in Sydney, and the huge success of Foreign Dubs’ D&BBQ events this year have put them both in great stead to join forces and bring Nu:tone to Sydney.
One thing both these crews have in common is a passionate commitment to quality music. And if you get along to the Nu:tone gig on October 30th, you’ll find it in full effect. Not only will the main room of Suzie Q’s be thumping with the finest melodic and soulful DnB, but if you take a short walk to the West London Beats room, you will find quality vibes of broken beat and breakstep developing into the grimier strains of garage as the night wears on.
Manning this room, Nathan Macleay has just returned from a US tour with Bugz In The Attic, so expect some cutting edge stuff from him in the broken beat department. Rob Somatik will back him up with his eclectic selection of jazz inspired tunes, and of course the usual suspects take the stand in the form of the Outbreak Collective (Eli, Zerobdub and Kodama), plus the Garage Pressure boys.
